How to install compiled GB firmware.

SVT teststand

The easiest way is to use SVT teststand and windows PC nearby.

.
hardware location
It is better for GB to stay slot#21 of teststand during the installation.
We can see three pins (A,B,C) in the picture which is available to install,
one by one corresponds to each FPGA and EPC2 chips.
Installation cable is to put these three places.

software side
You need to login the PC and then start "MAX plus II (programmer only)".
"Start"->"programs"->"Max plus II 10.1 (programmer only)"
Then select the "MAX+plusII"->"programmer" in pop up window.
Next step is to choose "JTAG"->"restore JTAG".
Then you have pop-up window and choose the "c:/users/takam/gb.proc/gb_proc.jcf" for processor firmware (chA)
and "c:/users/takam/gb.util/gb_util.jcf" for the utility firmware (chB, C)
Finally, you can choose "Program" in "programmer pop up window".

Any VME stand

As you see above, there are a few tools to install the firmware.
In hardware side, GB board, installation cables (of course this is realted to software)
In software side, we need only "MAX plus II".
(though inside MAX plus II, we need to make jcf file)
In order to make new jcf file, choose "JTAG"->"Multi-JTAG chain setup".
You can mimic the teststand jcf file, but order is important so that please take care it.
